As many people know, I was meant to be setting off to South Africa today to be part of a Wildlife Filmmaking Internship creating conservation videos in Schotia Private Game Reserve for Africa Media. As I sit now writing this on my arm chair, my dad has just brought me a huge bar of dairy milk chocolate, an eye mask, a blanket, some random headphones (where did he even find these pink headphones??) and dinner on a tray. My mum tells me dinner is 'Bobotie' the national dish of South Africa and turns the TV to the new Lion King. This is the comfiest 'aeroplane' set up I've ever been on... Today was better than being on a cramped plane, but the next month will be tainted with the sadness of the missed experience I'd dreamed of having for the longest time. So here I am, in Kent, wanting to scream COVID!!! It's as cursed as any swear word, it's said with as much infuriation, it's taken with as much sadness, it has caused more hurt than any word, it is a word you hate to hear... It's the bitch everyone's complaining about... oh whoops now that IS a swear word, warning I suppose:/
But hey, South Africa would've been amazing, but now I have 2 months of freedom, well freedom within the fields around me. This website is a MESS right now, and no one will be reading any of this until the website is finished, but I am going to start this month sorting out this website. It will include everything photography, film and art. I'm hopefully going to turn THIS blog into a wildlife exploration blog, looking at the wildlife around me! I'm hoping to do a post a week, hopefully surrounding the wildlife I find.
This photo was not taken in Kent.
You might be surprised hearing that this isn't Kent... This is a Sri Lankan Elephant, any guesses where it WAS taken? I am going to do a few blog posts looking into my archive of wildlife photography so you might see this Elafella again... But for now I just wanted to include a photo with the blog!
